My Story

15 Mar 2020

This June, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, over 1,400 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada. Who knew, right?

Kids need to enjoy that first day of school (exciting or not), making new friends, falling off the monkey bars, learning to drive a bike! Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am doing my part in raising funds, through this challenge, "our challenge" to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation. So they can continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.

Please partner with me by making a donation and together "we" can provide these kids the brighter futures they deserve.

Your support and financial contribution WILL... CHANGE... LIVES! So open up that purse, reach for your wallet, grab your phone and start making a difference!

Thank you.

I had an amazing time last year with this Challenge. I ended up having to increase my fundraising goal numerous times because of the generosity of each of you. I was fortunate enough to raise enough funds to receive the "Hero" Jersey as seen in the photo. This challenge did many things for me. Each time I went out I was able to clear my mind from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, I was being active, I was able to slow things down and provide some needed "Self-Care". I also found myself thinking about Cancer and how it has affected me and those nearest to me. I often thought about Children battling Cancer and what that must be like.

Here I was planning summer vacations, activities, things to do. What vehicle I was going to detail next, which direction I would mow the grass. There are children fighting to see tomorrow, fighting to go home, fighting to go on vacation. Not to mention, the moms, dads, grand parents, relatives and friends that are also affected by it. Honestly, we can't do enough or give enough.

I can't wait to get the 2020 Hero Jersey! I can't wait to see those donations rolling in! Thank you for partnering with me to Kick Cancer to the Curb! Pedals Up!
