My Story
Once again, this August I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer and this will be my third year. The first year I did 200 km just two months after a cycling accident that left me with a fractured hip, pelvis, ribs and a collapsed lung. Last year I rode 1,047 km and my goal this year is to meet or exceed last years distance.
For me this is still a significant challenge and I eventually recovered from my injuries, but many of the 1,400+ children who are diagnosed with cancer every year do not. Cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada and I ride for them. Those children are facing challenges that I cannot even imagine yet they push on. To be able to one day ride in the Great Cycle Challenge is a dream and hope that they strive for.
You can join me in this challenge by helping me to reach my fundraising goal. Together I know we will make a difference which is why I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation in their mission to develop treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it, so please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.
Your support will change little lives.
Thank you.
