My Story
Once again, this August I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer and this will be my FIFTH year. In 2020 after my biking accident I rode 208km and raised $1,027. My health improved later in the year and by 2021 I was in much better shape and rode 1,042 km and raised $4,412. In 2022 and 2023 I continued to increase my distance pushing on for 1,106km and 1,332km and thanks to your combined generosity we raised $4,769 and $5,394 for Sick Kids Foundation!! Together, lets see what we can do this year!!
For me this will be a significant challenge and I know that many of the 1,400+ children who are diagnosed with cancer every year would love to be able to do something like this but they often struggle just to get out of their hospital bed. Cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada and so I ride for them. Those children are facing challenges that I cannot even imagine yet they push on and to be able to one day ride in the Great Cycle Challenge themselves is a dream and hope that they strive for.
You can join me in this challenge by helping me to reach my fundraising goal. Together I know we will make a difference which is why I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation in their mission to develop treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
