I'm Riding For

Lydia Ginger and Leda Krikorian

Aunt Lydia is my Great Aunt. She died of cancer in 2006, before I even had a chance to meet her. My parents, sister and brother talk about her often. She was a really sweet lady who had many interesting hobbies, including wood working, which is also something I like to do. Aunty Leda is also my Great Aunt. She died of cancer in 2007, so I did not get a chance to meet her either. My family speak about her often. She used to make "monkey bread" a lot, so a few years ago we started a tradition to make monkey bread at Christmas time with our family, and we remember her. While both great aunts were lucky enough not to have childhood cancer, i will be riding in their memory.

My Story

9 Jun 2020

Dear Family and Friends,

Instead of summer camp, this August I'm riding 400 km with my sister, in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

I started this challenge with a fundraising goal of $500 and a cycling goal of 200 km. Thanks to the generosity of my early supporters, I have doubled both goals! i am so encouraged by your support and can't wait to start cycling for this important cause.

This challenge is a fundraiser in support of Sick Kids childhood cancer research. Please help me to reach my cycling goal of 400 km in 16 days, by donating to my fundraising link.

Please support me by making a donation through my fundraising page:

https://greatcyclechallenge.ca/Riders/JulianvonKursell/d

All funds raised will support SickKids Foundation to provide care, develop treatments and find a cure for childhood cancers.

Thank you for your support.

Julian

  • Starting the plan...
    7 Jun 2020

After signing up for the challenge, Sage and I are starting to plan how we are going to achieve our goal. There are a lot of trails in our neighbourhood, so i guess we will be getting to know them very well!
