Event Details

Actual date for this ride has been set for August 22, 2026 and the actual route is still a bit undetermined, as it is dependent on the bridge on the Veterans Walkway being completed! Completion date was for May 2026, so I am hoping by ride date it should be done! Ride will be more street riding, with a portion being on a trail. Distance of ride will probably be 20 kilometers approximately, with the option for riders to do more if they choose.

Details of ride still to be worked out, but this is a fun ride and I would encourage you to check it out, We will do lunch together as a group at a local bakery, as we have done in past years when this was known as Trans Canada Trail Group ride.

Since this will be my last year doing GCC, I will bring some of my magnetic posters to the ride for anyone who might wish to use them for their own rides! I have a few that are specific to my ride so they won’t work for anyone else but some are not person specific so they might as well find a new home!

The date for the Group Ride has been set for August 22, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., as per the calendar marked in RED. Alternate dates available, in case of rain, would be August 26, 27, or 28. Please reach out and let me know how many people can be counted on, especially on August 22, 2026. This makes the ride on a weekend, allowing for more people to participate in this, the last ride I will be organizing. Let's get together and make this a really fun day of fellowship in our GCC community!

I have a potential group ride date now! August 22, 2026 is a Saturday which could possibly allow more participation since it’s not a work day for many! If the forecast is very negative for that day, we could reschedule for the following Wednesday, Thursday or Friday! Please share your thoughts about this so I can start tabulating where we can get maximum participation for this last ride I will be organizing! Thanks!

I don’t have any new details as yet but I am waiting for the Veterans Trail bridge to be completed so I can take my bike down to Tillsonburg and check out the potential new route. I believe the route will be a bit shorter this year, although you could do more kilometers if you chose to do so, but the new route will be almost all paved cycle route through some subdivisions and very little on a busier thoroughfare!
