My Story

26 May 2026

This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer! This is my SEVENTH year.

Why? Because right now, over 1,400 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada. And to honour and keep the memory of my sweet great-niece, Shelby alive. She was only 3 when she lost her battle to this nasty disease in 2006. 2020 was the 1st year I took part in the GCC and the experience was so amazing! The support I received from family and friends was so awesome and humbling. I will take part every year for as long as I am able to in honour of Shelby and because.........

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
