My Story
250 km. 8 km a day. Every day in August!!
I'm a father to three girls — Giselle, Mckenzie and Eliora. They're healthy, thank God. And that's exactly why I can't look away from this. Thirty-two children in Canada are diagnosed with cancer every week. Thirty-two. Kids the same age as mine, fighting for their lives instead of jumping, hopping, and breathing life without a single thought about their health. It's supposed to be the default. That's what breaks my heart.
Childhood cancer is the biggest disease-related killer of kids in this country. Research is how that changes, and research needs money. That's the whole equation.
Every dollar goes to SickKids Foundation, where about a quarter of Canada's diagnosed kids are treated. None of it touches me — I just pedal.
My goal is $650.
That's $2.60 per kilometre, or 26 people at $25.
$25 = 10 km of my ride.
