In memory of Arlene Mulder Papaioannou and all the kids still fighting cancer
This years ride is in memory of my daughter Arlene, who lost her fight in a battle against colon cancer in October 2018💔! While she was no longer a child, she was MY child! . Please help me to reach my goal of $15,000 or more this year. I’m trusting that I can count on your support again this year....will YOU be the one that pushes my numbers over the top? My Story
This year I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer again!
Why? Because right now, over 1,700 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada. Let that sink in for a minute......1700 every year. While, unfortunately, some of those kids will NOT survive their cancers, but many do but remain in treatments. Then, the next year, and every year thereafter, another 1,700 kids are added to that. I have a friend in the GCC community who rides in memory of her baby sister, who passed away 56 years ago......that's 56 times 1,700 minus the ones who succumbed to the disease. That's a LOT of kids, and requires a lot of money.....THIS IS WHY WE RIDE AND FUNDRAISE!
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
My rides in 2023, 2024 and 2025 have surpassed my goal of $15,000 each year, so my starting goal for this year will be $15,000 again and will be adjusted as needed! I continue to bike in memory of my daughter Arlene, and riding and fundraising for all those still in the fight. I am hoping that you will continue to support me by sponsoring. 28 May 2026What a gorgeous day once again! Today was a somewhat busy day. Spent my morning in Woodstock, had lunch with a friend, and gave my temporarily carless friend a ride to make a delivery!! Then headed over to someone who had a bottle pickup for me. His bottles were in his blue boxes, so he asked if I could return them for their intended use later! Problem solved….take empties to beer store in Woodstock, and return his bins to him! Upon returning the bins, the gentleman came outside and gave a cash donation to my ride!!! You know who you are, so THANK YOU! Coming back to Ingersoll, I made my way to the printer to pick up my freshly designed flyer….so here we are four days before the next fundraiser rolls out!
Did you know, this fundraiser is for kids like Freya, who is featured on the flyer, is from right here in WOODSTOCK and has family and friends in Ingersoll?!
Let’s really show some love. to raise money for kids like Freya, who are on a cancer journey!!!
With just four days to launch, what are we really waiting for….some pre sale spots have already been taken, so let’s just roll this one out NOW. It will still run until the end of June, so lots of opportunity to get your name on the wheel…perhaps even a few times🤷🏻♀️. It increases your odds, but more importantly, it raises more money to help the kids on a cancer journey!
$25 per spot for the opportunity to walk away with $2700 worth of gift certificates (thank you Ingersoll and area merchants, service clubs, and individuals).

22 May 2026Hi all, there hasn't been too much cycling happening yet, but rest assured, there’s lots happening behind the scene, to get ready for the next exciting thing to happen here! A sneak peak at the new flyer fundraiser that will launch on June 1st! Want to get in on it early? EMTs are already being accepted at this time so, you don’t have to postpone getting your name on the wheel! There are currently a few names on the wheel already, but I’m hoping for a lot of names on this wheel, given that the prize package is $2700!
And this is the last time the SHOP LOCAL PLUS fundraiser is being offered…you don’t want to miss this one - it’s a huge package, with so much good stuff in it....no less than 19 new participants to the prize package!!!!!!

15 May 2026This afternoon I set out for a bike ride of sorts! Ride around the block to meet a new neighbour, grab the mail from the community mailbox which offered up nothing! From there I headed up the road to check in on a neighbour who seemed to be doing great! Well, I spent the next hour or so visiting (and selling a spot on an upcoming fundraiser wheel) and chatting about Great Cycle Challenge! From there I headed home, but not before meeting up with the son (he lives in the GTA now) of a neighbour and discussed the current Golf Fundraiser and the efforts to raise money for Sick Kids Hospital in support of kids fighting cancer! All in all, it was a good afternoon, but in terms of cycling I only got 4 kilometers…..hey it happens, but I got some support and was able to raise awareness for the cause….and, I DID get 4 kilometers in!
Oh, and there are still a few hours left to get in on the GOLF fundraiser‼️Message me to find out how!

2 May 2026The second golf fundraiser is moving along nicely but there is always room for more names on the wheel! Did you know that the wheel allows for up to 500 names on it….wouldn’t it be great to fill a complete wheel?!!!
And while the golf fundraiser is rolling along , I’m building a package that will focus more on my home town of Ingersoll and surrounding area! And WOW, this package has a bit of everything….a bit of glitter, a LOT of dirt, some sweet treats, some fun stuff, some to keep your fur babies happy, oh man, I can’t even remember what’s all in it, but it promises to not disappoint! This is the largest package I have ever put together, and I am trusting that it will sell well! Be watching for it to roll out early in June (or perhaps even a bit earlier)! Just keep watching my Facebook page for it! I already can’t wait to promote it!
And why do I do all this….well, let’s remember that every.$25 donated for any of the fundraisers….its Always 💯 percent for the kids fighting cancer! ALL proceeds from ALL fundraisers are donated to my GCC ride for kids cancer! Let’s all work together to do this!

26 Apr 2026Well….I guess I lost something in speed over the winter, or can I blame it on a headwind….both ways? We all know that when WE turn, the wind follows suit!😂
But for those of you who know me, I’m more about fundraising than I am about cycling, although it was good to get out for a ride! That’s where YOU come in….like I always say, I will do the biking but I need ALL OF YOU to support with the fundraising….that's what ultimately helps the kids fighting cancer! So if you have already done so, THANK YOU VERY MUCH! 17 Apr 2026Another day closer to getting the bike outside…the weather is starting to shape up as well. Spring is finally here by the looks of things!
Yesterday I did the wheel spin for the first golf fundraiser which raised $1150.00 to help kids fighting cancer! This afternoon I was able to deliver the prize package to Matthew Bannon. Matthew is always a pleasure to chat with and is a huge supporter of all my fundraisers! You too could become a winner just by getting your name on a spinner wheel. And while the first golf fundraising package has come and gone for this year, there is another one ready to go. Different courses, different driving range and simulators, but all for the same cause….helping kids fighting cancer! The flyer shows a start date of April 20, but since the first fundraiser is finished, the second one can start today!
Message me if you would like to participate….cost is just $25 to get your name on the wheel - buy more for more chances to win and we get to help more kids on their cancer journey!
And, the upcoming SHOP LOCAL PLUS package just keeps growing and growing…it’s got so much cool stuff in it, you won’t want to miss out on that one!
