My Story
They say that 1 in 2 Canadians will get cancer in their lifetime. As it turns out, I'm one of those statistics, having been diagnosed with the best cancer that you can get diagnosed with.. thyroid cancer. But it was detected early, so my prognosis is good, due to the research that has been done with funds raised before me & of course Dr. Payne
But the cancer treatment journey is not always kind, and no child should have to go through it.
That is why, this August, I am riding in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
It will be harder this year, the treatments have really slowed me down. My goal is to ride, but I don't know how many km that I can do. But for me, fundraising to help the kids is much more important.
Because right now, cancer is the largest killer of children from disease in Canada – 4 children die of cancer every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
