Mable Ward

Mable Ward

On April 25, 2026, I lost my mom to cancer. She was my best friend, my biggest supporter, and the strongest woman I’ve ever known. She faced her journey with incredible courage, grace, and love, and she continues to inspire me every single day. This August, I’ll be riding 200 kilometres in her memory and in honour of every child and family whose lives have been touched by cancer. No child should have to fight this disease, and no parent should have to hear the words, “your child has cancer.” Every kilometre I ride is for my mom, and every donation helps fund life-saving research through SickKids Foundation, bringing hope to children and families who need it most. Mom, I wish you were here to cheer me on, but I know you’ll be with me every step of the way. Thank you for teaching me what strength, kindness, and unconditional love truly mean. This ride is for you. I love you forever, and I’ll carry you with me for all 200 kilometres. ❤️

My Story

30 Jul 2026

This ride is incredibly personal to me. I’m dedicating every kilometre to the memory of my beautiful mum, Mable Ward, whose strength, kindness, and love continue to inspire me every day.

No family should have to hear the words, “your child has cancer.” Yet every year, more than 1,700 children in Canada are diagnosed with this devastating disease. Childhood cancer remains the leading cause of disease-related death among Canadian children.

Kids deserve to be riding bikes, laughing with friends, going to school, and making memories—not spending their days in hospitals fighting for their lives.

That’s why I’m raising funds through the Great Cycle Challenge to support SickKids Foundation and help fund life-saving research, better treatments, and, one day, a cure.

Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to giving these children the future they deserve.

Thank you for supporting my ride, honouring my mom’s memory, and helping make a difference in the lives of children and their families. ❤️
