My Story

My physical challenge starts tomorrow and it is dawning on me that the real challenge will be mental/spiritual. My health is horrible. 700km in a month is way more than I have ever done. The list of excuses goes on and on.

People with cancer must face mental and spiritual challenges far beyond what I can imagine. They have no choice but to step forward. Backing out isn't an option.

I am loving time with my first grandson. He is so healthy and happy. When I think about friends who had children with aggressive cancers...I can't picture how hard that must have been. One young girl, thanks to amazing support and treatments, has kicked cancer's a$# and is now a powerful woman to reckon with. That took years of soul wrenching treatments and pain.

Let's support cancer research together so cancer can sit on the bench with the common cold. Honk if you see me or any other participants riding. Donate a little or a lot. Let's make this August memorable.

My Challenge

400!!

I actually got above 400km!!! It took help to get me here. It turns out that you can burn out your legs if you suddenly increase your riding. I tried helping move things around the farm and my legs burned and shook after 12 steps. Clint and Jorin pulled me through so I could get 50 km yesterday but that took toll.

Today is a day of rest and I mapped out my riding over the next two weeks and I should be able to get to 700km.

I am enjoying the posts from my fellow riders. Not only are they raising tons of money, they are breaking personal riding records too. Inspirational for sure.

So, two weeks left. Tired. Sore. BUT also determined to finish strong.
