I'm Riding For
Zayden Thomas and every other child fighting the fight!
On June 7th, our son Zayden was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. He started treatment and we were given good odds. We are thankful for all the cancer research being done in Canada, because on July 16th, we received the best news. Zayden is in remission! He will continue to have chemo treatments over the next 2+ years, but he is currently cancer free! I know how many children aren't as lucky as my warrior, but every single one is their own warrior, facing the fight against cancer. I'm riding to make my small dent to help further the leading edge research and treatments that are being studied in Canada. Thank you for your support!
My Story
My son was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on June 7th, 2023. Hearing the diagnosis was devastating; my heart sank, and I felt an overwhelming sense of helplessness. As we navigated the days that followed, we were incredibly grateful for the support and guidance of our exceptional medical team. We quickly adapted to our new reality, managing NG tubes and administering various medications daily. Despite following the doctors' instructions meticulously, I felt powerless in my ability to directly alleviate my son's suffering.
This experience ignited a profound determination within me to support others facing similar battles. Recognizing that many parents across Canada endure this struggle, often with even more daunting prognoses, I was compelled to act. I signed up for the Great Cycle Challenge to raise funds for childhood cancer research in Canada.
Now, as a two-year legacy rider for the Great Cycle Challenge, I am more committed than ever to this cause. I invite you to join me in the fight against kids' cancer. Whether by joining my team to raise funds or by making a donation, your support can make a significant difference.
Help us bring hope and a cure to every child facing cancer. Together, we can make an impact.

Pedaling for Hope: Join Us in the Fight Against Childhood Cancer
28 Jun 2024Jessica and I are proud to participate in the Great Cycle Challenge to help raise awareness and funds for cancer research in Canada. This year, we are riding for our brave son, Zayden Thomas the Train. Thanks to the incredible advancements in cancer research, Zayden is currently in remission and doing wonderfully. However, he still has a year and a half of maintenance chemotherapy ahead. We ride not only for Zayden but also for all the other children battling cancer, with the hope that one day, all forms of cancer will be curable.
Childhood Cancer Facts in Canada:

Each year, about 1,700 children in Canada are diagnosed with cancer.
The survival rate for childhood cancer has improved significantly, with over 80% of children diagnosed with cancer now surviving five years or more.
Ongoing research is crucial, as it continues to improve treatment methods and outcomes, giving hope to families across the country.
We are incredibly grateful for the support and advancements in cancer research that have made Zayden’s remission possible.
Your donations and support can help ensure that every child has the chance to overcome cancer.
