My Story
This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, over 1,700 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.

Sturgeon Falls to Verner and return
3 Aug 2026This ride is more my style. There are small hills in the beginning which I climbed a lot quicker than usual. I also pushed myself harder than usual and broke some personal best records.
These old stone churches are slowly disappearing from Northern Ontario.

First Group Ride
3 Aug 2026First time in a group ride. I couldn’t keep up with the pack. The hills are challenging, and there were many. After 7 kilometres I had to call it quits. I knew I wasn’t going to survive 50 km with this crew. So feeling bad that I didn’t add much mileage for the children I went home and logged another 40km in familiar territory.
Lesson learned, group rides are comprised of young athletes that I can’t keep up to yet. My average speed needs to increase to at least 25km/h and I need to learn how to climb hills efficiently.
