I am excited to be part of the Great Bike Challenge.

Karen’s best friend in Newfoundland Eileen’s granddaughter Emma Clarke , a beautiful smart and extremely brave little girl, fought cancer for number of years. She was always smiling and a great role model for others.

These are Emma's Bravery beads from the Janeway Hospital. For everything Emma does through her journey there is a bead; bloodwork, chemo, port access, tests/scans, good day/bad day, hair loss/growth, etc. It really is an amazing program! So I measured her beads today and she has 108 inches of beads, that is 9 feet!!!!

She is very proud of her beads and has certainly earned every single one of them! ❤

I am riding for Emma and so many others that have to go through this awful disease at such a young age.

Unfortunately Emma courageously lost her battle with cancer but I have no doubt that she is looking down on me from Heaven and helping me to make it through the challenge.

This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, over 1,700 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
