This year, I am dedicating my goal to my brother Dan's friends' 7 year old daughter Ellie, who last September, was diagnosed with Lymphoblastic Leukemia. She has undergone many chemo sessions over the last 8 months. Ellie is dealing with this, with courage, determination, strength and a sense of humour and lots of love and support from her family, friends and dedicated healthcare team. She is certainly a brave young lady!

We will also have my sister in law Nicole's cousin Carol Quesnel's grand daughter Lily and her friend’s daughter Charlotte in our thoughts and in our hearts as we ride. Lily has successfully fought stage 4 Neuroblastoma cancer. Charlotte was diagnosed with Metastatic Mesothelioma, which is very rare amongst children. Charlotte has also had success due to immunotherapy. A tribute to their strength and courage and the support and love they have received from their family, physicians, nurses and caregivers.

So all those research dollars you have helped raise, have helped make them and many other children better, and the fight continues. Because right now in Canada, over 1,400 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada. It's so heart breaking to see children having to go through all of that suffering. This is such a great cause.
