In July, I passed Birthday number 83. She would have loved my parties! She was an activist and full of energy, but her children and projects for children were her passion. Since my riding can direct funds to research specifically for children's cancers; I feel her pushing!

My Story

8 Aug 2026

This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer. I'm starting with a low $$ pledge, but as my practice rides get longer you can be sure I'll raise the challenge!

Why? Because right now, over 1,700 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.

Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.

The Two days to ride Position

The support from my family and friends is astonishing; Thank you all!

Today is cool and damp at the moment, but I'm ready to roll if a break in drizzle appears!

At July 30,I wasn't sure if I was strong enough to aim for 400 km, but the day I rode 42 km gave me a big "hurrah" because the summer strength building activity had worked again this year!

Today I'm officially raising my goal to 400 km to honour the donors to my site and the children who are so special in this 2026 project.

Today was unusual for me this August because Tilley Dog Kehoe arrived last night to have several days as my Grand dog!!!

We walked a lot today so I didn't fit in any cycling.

I'm so grateful for the names that appear with the donations on my page.

This is a jaunt through my life as I recall times we spent/spend together.

I wish the names stayed in order of the day/time the donation was made rather than bossy old Exell choice of picking the descending dollar amount as the way to manage the list.

Every dollar in the bucket is important; tallied together the total is far more than I am personally able to donate.

Thank you to all who have donated and also some who are still not appearing.
