I'm riding 500km this August on a 20+ year-old single-speed BMX — to fight kids’ cancer.

This is my seventh year participating in the Great Cycle Challenge, raising funds for childhood cancer research at SickKids. It's also how I like to celebrate another year around the sun at the end of the month — by pushing myself for something that matters — and this year marks rotation number 53.

Cancer is the #1 disease killer of children in Canada. It took my younger cousin when I was just 8. Since then, it’s taken friends, grandparents, an uncle, and both of my parents. It’s brutal at any age — but for a kid to go through it? That’s just wrong.

That’s why I ride. To raise funds. To raise hope. To help give kids a chance to just be kids — not patients.
