My Story
It's September, I’ve completed my 31 days of riding as of yesterday, adding the three rides I was not able to ride in August, which brings my total ride to 1,166.3 kms, surpassing my goal of 1,010 kms. This is the most I've EVER ridden in 31 days, and this years challenge, my 4th, included one ride of 104.2 kms, the longest ride I’ve done in 7 years, my all time personal best was 122 kms during my first GCC in 2019.
I’ve also surpassed my goal of raising $1,054 in donations, as of today I’m at $1,292! I’m incredibly happy with all of the help to not only reach and pass my goal, but with 23 days left in September I still hold out hope to totally crush that number! I love cycling and I love that I can use it to help children in their fight against cancer, the largest killer of children from disease in Canada. If you know me, you know I prefer to participate in fundraisers that help kids. My profile shows a 6 year legacy, but this year is only my 4th riding in this challenge, my first year in 2019 I rode 1,008 km and raised $935, but my ride was cut short due to an unrelated concussion, another concussion and four lost years and I finally got back to riding in 2024 and again in 2025! As I said, I want to do even better this year!
Thank you to my supporters last year, who shared my posts on Facebook, encouraged me to get out on my bike, and met up with me during a ride… it all helped me to get out every day! Thank you to those who have donated in the past and have stepped up to donate again this year - you’re the champs of this challenge!
