My Story

This August, I am taking part again, for my fourth year, in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer.

This year I’m riding again to support the 13 year old grandson of a dear friend in Powell River. Gavin is a beautiful, busy boy who loves hockey, family and friends. He was diagnosed with cancer 16 months ago. Gavin is now able to receive treatment as an outpatient and is home in Powell River. He is determined and has the support of a loving family, friends and a caring community.

Children, like Gavin, should be living life, not fighting for it. So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
