This August will be the seventh summer that I'll take part in the Great Cycle Challenge to raise funds to research cures for childhood cancer in the memory of my mom, who died of cancer in 2010. This year, I've upped my fundraising goal to $2,500 and maintained my cycling goal at 1000km, which was a super big challenge last year and will be equally tough this year.

The money raised during this challenge will go to the SickKids Foundation, which distributes funds to research hospitals across the country to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
