My Story

I have been struggling with how to write the tribute and dedication of my ride this year, and I hope I have articulated in a respectful manner for a tragedy so fresh. While we ride to support kids with cancer, we ride to support kids, first and foremost. A moped accident tragically took the life of an amazing 15 year old the last week of July. MVP for his hockey team, citizenship award and gold honor roll, he was an exceptional kid. I got to watch him grow up thanks to social media, and the pride in eyes of his parents whenever they talk about him and his sister. Trying to make sense of this tragedy is absolutely impossible. With broken hearts, our community wishes this family love and light, with grateful hearts for making the selfless decision for organ donation. This year, I dedicate my ride to this amazing young man, and all of those that love him. Sticks out, Thumbs up for Christian.
