My Story
This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
This year marks 30 years since we lost Amy to childhood leukemia. She was just 6 years old.
In honour of Amy's courageous fight, and in memory of all the little angels we met along the way, I have pledged to ride my bike in support of childhood cancer research and the families who continue to face this unimaginable journey.
Every kilometre I ride is for Amy, for the children who are still fighting, and for the families who carry their love and memories every day. Thank you for helping me honour them and support a future where more children get the chance to grow up.

During the month of August I pledged to ride 500km in the Great Cycle Challenge in aim of fundraising for Sick Kids Foundation to fight childhood cancer.
My intention was to honour my sister, Amy, who fought childhood leukemia for years with incredible strength and courage. This year marks 30 years since we lost her at just 6 years old. This ride was for her and all the other little angels we met along the way.
When I initially signed up for this I really didn't know what to expect. My initial fundraising goal was $1,000. And I quickly realized that was way too low... because in the first 24 hours alone we blew past that and raised $2,000! The momentum kept up as our story was shared online and the word got out.
After nearly 2 months of fundraising and 1 month of riding, I am proud to say that together we certainly made a difference. $10,079 to be exact!
I would like to formally thank all of my generous sponsors, my family, my friends, and everyone who supported the initiative through sharing, liking and expressing words of encouragement. None of this would have been made possible without you. Every single one of you honoured Amy and her memory. Thank you for supporting this cause that means so much to our family.
I would also like to express many thanks to the Great Cycle Challenge, as a whole we had the opportunity to raise $6,456,197. What a fantastic initiative, team and driven group of riders with one shared goal!
And while our story has been written and remembered by so many. I would like to acknowledge that so many brave children and their families still live this scary and unfortunate reality. Here is to hoping that our effort can help make a difference and support a future where more children get the chance to grow up.
While my cycling challenge has come to an end, my fundraising page will remain open until the end of September.
