This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight cancer!

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

My family and I have watched both adults and children in our immediate family and friends circles battle cancer over the past 10 years. Some battles are still being fought, while others have unfortunately been lost. :(

Cancer takes away so much from those it affects directly, and those who love and care for them as well. The least we can do is bring more awareness to research and potential treatments, and hope that our contributions help to fight this battle, and give valuable time back to families.

Research into childhood cancers can significantly benefit adult cancer research and treatment. While childhood and adult cancers have distinct characteristics, breakthroughs in one area can often be applied to the other. This is because cancer research, especially in areas like targeted therapies and immunotherapy, can reveal insights that are relevant across different age groups and cancer types.

While there are differences between childhood and adult cancers, the lines are blurring, and research in one area can often provide valuable insights and advancements in the other.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help support the SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
