I'm Riding For
Sarah
My bike ride challenge to support finding a cure for children’s cancer is dedicated to my beautiful 4 year old granddaughter Sarah. Sarah was diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in February, 2025. She is in the midst of a very difficult and intensive 2 year chemo treatment regimen at CancerCare Manitoba. Sarah is only 33 pounds but is a dynamo when it comes to her fight against cancer. She is following her treatment plan to a tee with the help and support of her family and the talented staff at CancerCare Manitoba. We have no doubt that Sarah will beat cancer and return to the normal routine of a little girl who loves life and is looking forward to returning to her swim and gymnastics classes and starting school. Thank you for your support of this fundraising challenge and helping to make her dreams come true.
My Story
This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, over 1,700 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.

Sarah is at CancerCare all day getting transfusions of hemoglobin and platelets to gain her strength and immunity back after an intensive month of chemotherapy. She may need another transfusion on Tuesday but after that it should be clear sailing for a few weeks at least.”
