My Story

I started biking the Great Cycle Challenge back in 2017 to pick up my old joy of cycling. After I had my heart failure in 2021, bicycles became central to the health and fitness regime that saved my life. Each year I have upped my challenge, trying to pay back some for my thanks for being alive. No kids should face Cancer’s dangers.

This August, I am again taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer! My recent surgery will cut my June training but I’m committed to riding 400km. in August.

Why? Because right now, over 1,700 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it. I know the current worlds has many legitimate claims on our help and charity, but if you can throw a little in the pot and support my ride. If circumstances prevent that, then just please cheer me on!

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
