I'm Riding For
Josée
My Story
This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer! Why? Because right now, over 1,700 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada. I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for cancer.
I have been joining my father on his GCC rides for the past 4 years, but this year will be my first time officially participating. My mother, Josée, was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in September of last year and she has been fighting a difficult battle ever since. She has always been a beacon of strength and resilience in my life, and I will be drawing on some of that strength to push me through this challenge. I am very grateful to have her as my mother, and I couldn't be more proud to complete this in her honour.
This year will be filled with many unique rides, including going around Lake Simcoe! Overall I am aiming for 1000km in the month of August, although I may have to hop on a bike in Denmark to complete it.
Please consider donating to support kids with cancer, as well as their families.
Thank you.
