Hello,

My name is Michael Riley, and I am honored to be participating in The Great Cycle Challenge for the fourth year, now as a Champion Rider!

The Great Cycle Challenge (GCC) is a nationwide cycling event that raises awareness and funds for cancer research at SickKids Hospital. This year, we have over 13,300 riders participating!

One hundred percent of donations go directly to SickKids Hospital.

I began this journey in 2021. As a new father to my beautiful daughter Emma, my priorities changed quickly. I realized how fortunate I was to have a healthy child, which, sadly, is not the case for everyone. Since becoming a father, I've felt a strong drive to help others through events like the GCC.

Here's a look at my progress over the years:

- 2021: Raised $7,300 and rode 640 km.

- 2022: Raised $16,356 and rode 1,018 km.

- 2023: Raised $23,067 and rode 1,255 km.

This year, I'm excited to take on an even bigger challenge. My goal is to ride at least 1,500 km and raise $25,000 or more. One of my major rides will be a 900 km bike-packing journey around the circumference of Lake Ontario over six days.

I'm incredibly grateful to be part of this amazing event and look forward to many more years of participation.
