Why I Ride

This August marks my 9th year participating in the Great Cycle Challenge, and once again I am riding to help end childhood cancer.

Last year, I proudly completed 642 km. This year, I've set an even bigger goal - 426 km throughout August. Every kilometre I ride is dedicated to children courageously battling cancer and to the families who stand beside them every step of the way.

Children should be spending their days laughing, learning, playing, and dreaming about their future - not undergoing treatments, facing hospital stays, or fighting for their lives. Yet every year in Canada, more than 1,400 children are diagnosed with cancer, and childhood cancer remains the leading cause of disease-related death among children.

For nine years, I have been inspired by the incredible courage, resilience, and determination these young warriors show every single day. Their strength reminds me why this ride matters. Every child deserves the chance to grow up healthy, chase their dreams, and enjoy the simple joys of childhood.

Every donation, no matter the amount, helps fund life-saving research, develop better treatments, and provide hope for children and their families. Together, we can make a real difference and move closer to a future where no child has to face cancer.
