I'm Riding For

Too many to name, alive and departed... I love you all.

There are too many to list - but I'm one of the lucky ones... at least some of the kids I knew are thriving adults, who have been in remission a long time... and some of my adult friends are in remission, or still on 'bonus time'. I want to live in a world where I don't have to *feel* that way - because everyone makes it, or better yet, doesn't have to endure treatment in the first place. So here I am, posting whatever mileage I get this year, and seeing whether one person's efforts can help add up to change.

My Story

Some of my family and friends include survivors of childhood cancers. I've seen the photo album at the local Relay for Life - and far too many yellow shirts on young people there...

Will more research fix everything? Probably not - or not soon... but that doesn't mean we can't work to do SO much better than we are.

Each and every one of these children deserve a better life than they get when they're stuck in treatment. I can't do *much* myself - but that just means needing a bigger team, and doesn't absolve me of my obligation to act.

...and if we make inroads on childhood cancers, the findings could help elsewhere... I have friends on _that_ list too.
