This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, over 1,400 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.

I am participating for my third year in this fundraiser to help kids with cancer. As a registered nurse who has worked in chemotherapy and in the Operating Room with patients battling cancer, this fight hits close to home. Witnessing how this disease disrupts many lives makes me want to help out in any way I can.

I can’t think of a better way to show my support by combining two things I love: helping people and riding my bike. This summer I’ll be riding my bike to fight kids’ cancer.

The funds we raise through our challenge will support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
