I loved to do adventures with you. I'm doing this adventure for you. I miss you every day. You are my best friend. Every time I have an exciting adventure I think of how much you would like it.
My Story
This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer! This is my fourth time. Last summer I did 110 km because my best friend Arya never got to have her 11th birthday. The year before I did 100 km because she did not make it to 10. And before that I did 90 km, 80km and 70 km because she didnt live to have her 7th, 8th or 9th birthday. This year I am riding 120 km because she never got to be 12 like me.
My best friend, Arya, died of brain cancer when she was just 6 years old. She was just about to turn 7 years old. I miss our adventures together and hope they can help kids with cancer so that they can live. Kids should always be able to have adventures. I am doing this biking adventure for Arya. Even though Arya was not able to turn 7 she still did so many fun things and had huge goals. She did challenges like 50 nights in a tent and she loved to achieve her goal. This riding goal is a way I can keep her memory alive and helps me think of her.
My goal was to raise $10,000 in total and I did that last year. Now my hope is to just raise what I can in her memory. My hope is that the money I raise helps kids with cancer reach their dreams . So far I have raised $11,817 for the GCC and Sick Kids and I heard all year about how that money helped different kids fighting cancer. I hope more kids with cancer will be able to have the adventures that Arya never got to do. Thank you for sponsoring me. Please join my team!!
