This is my fifth year taking on the Great Canadian Cycle Challenge, and every kilometre still means as much as the first.

I ride because I've seen how quickly a child's world can change. I carry with me the memory of a child I knew growing up who faced lung cancer far too young, and that kind of loss stays with you.

SickKids is doing the work that matters through research, treatment, and breakthroughs that give kids a fighting chance. I may never see that work up close, but I know it's real, and I know it makes a difference.

This year, I'm aiming to ride 300km and raise $5,000. Five years in, the why hasn't changed. Kids deserve better odds, and this is one way I can help build them.
