My Story

23 May 2026

This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, over 1,400 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it. They should be ON a bike and not having other people bike for them.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.

I am a person who lost the "love of my life" to terminal brain cancer ( glioblastoma) and my daughter got the most difficult breast cancer--triple negative-- at the age of 42 but thankfully has survived. I spent lots of time on the cancer ward, and my heart went out to the children with cancer. How trajic that many will never grow up to travel the world or fall in love, or have the career that they hoped for. How devasting for families when young lives are cut short. Children should never suffer and the soon we find cures the better. Best of luck to you on your ride! You have earned your angel wings.”
