Why I’m Riding

This August, I’m taking on a 400 km cycling challenge to raise money to fight kids’ cancer.

Cycling has taught me that big challenges are completed one pedal stroke at a time. From my regular rides around Edmonton to completing a 100 km ride through Jasper, I’ve learned how determination can carry us farther than we think possible.

But a difficult ride is a challenge I choose—and it ends when I get home. Children facing cancer and their families don’t get to simply step away from their challenge.

Kids should be spending their time learning, playing, laughing with friends and dreaming about their futures—not facing cancer treatments and hospital stays. That is why I’m riding.

My official goal is to cycle 400 km during August, but the distance is only part of the challenge. My real goal is to turn every kilometre into awareness, hope and support for children fighting cancer.
