On May 14, I broke my femur in a cycling accident. While this was a painful and traumatic experience, I have been working hard to get my mobility and strength back. My recovery goal from the beginning has been to be cycling again by August. I am thankful that my recovery has been going well so far and I am more optimistic than ever that this goal is achievable.

My injury has reminded me to never take for granted our livelihood and ability to do the things we love. But unfortunately cancer has taken too many young lives and robbed too many children of their childhood. Kids should be living life, not fighting for it! Over 1400 children are diagnosed with cancer every year and cancer is the largest killer of children from disease in Canada!

With that backdrop, my goal is to pedal 400 km in August and raise $4000 for this important cause in the process.
