It's the second week of August and I've ridden 228 kms and I’ve raised $104! It’s been difficult finding times to ride, avoiding wet days and hot days, most of my rides are early starts, earlier than my usual alarm even. So far I’ve managed to squeeze in a ride every day and I've only been caught out in the rain once and I’ve even survived a ripped sidewall on my rear tire, could have been worse!

As I enter my second week my goals are the same, to surpass last year's goals of 1,010 kms and $1,018! The good news? I’ll do all the riding, and you can help me with the fundraising! This ride is raising funds to help kids fight much more than any challenge you or I have ever had to deal with, and as you’ve heard numerous times here, “kids should be living life, not fighting for it”!

I love cycling and I love that I can use it to help children in their fight against cancer, the largest killer of children from disease in Canada. If you know me, you know I prefer to participate in fundraisers that help kids. My profile shows a 6 year legacy, but this year is only my 4th riding in this challenge, my first year in 2019 I rode 1,008 km and raised $935, but my ride was cut short due to an unrelated concussion, another concussion and four lost years due to those concussions and I finally got back to riding in 2024 and again in 2025! As I said, I rode 1,010km and raised $1,018 last year – LET'S DO BETTER this year!

Thank you to my supporters last year, who shared my posts on Facebook, encouraged me to get out on my bike, and met up with me during a ride… it all helped me to get out every day!
