This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, over 1,400 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am trying to raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.

As I mentioned last year, I finally got my new hip and it did not disappoint! It has given me a second chance. I am forever grateful for the surgical team, my rehab team and of course my ongoing support team. This is such a minuscule event considering the struggle, the fight, the ongoing challenges of all the children and their families as they gather their strength , their determination, their perseverance and so much more every day to beat this insidious cancer.

They are my heros, my inspiration.

For them, I will again be on my "horse" covering kilometers to do my small part to help these young tykes who have challenges far beyond what they should ever experience. I may not be able to make their lives perfect but i will do my best to support them. Can happen to anyone. And it does.
