Here’s a heartfelt version you can use on your Great Cycle Challenge fundraising page: This August, I’m taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids’ cancer. This ride is deeply personal to me. Earlier this year, I lost my beloved grandfather, who had been battling cancer. He was 86 years old and fought his illness with incredible courage and resilience until the very end. I was fortunate to spend the last month of his life by his side. During that time, I witnessed not only how much cancer can make someone suffer, but also the remarkable strength it takes to keep fighting. Watching someone you love endure that pain is something that stays with you forever. This year, every kilometre I ride is a tribute to my grandfather—his strength, his love, and the memories we shared. While I couldn’t change his journey, I hope to help create a better future for children facing cancer today. No child should have to endure this disease.
