My Story
This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Those who know me know that I've been doing my best to get out and get biking more. If you also know me, you know that I care. This seems like a good opportunity to raise funds for a good cause and to do it while out and about. Since it'll be on my ebike, I've upped the kms that i think i could do on a motorless one. As I do not have the biggest facebook presence I would appreciate if you share this. If I meet the donation goal I'll donate 50 dollars and for every 100 dollars over I'll personally donate 25 dollars. Looking to get a camera for the bike to share my rides, but I will be updating this with any and all pictures i do take.
Cheers, stay safe, and share the love. We are all in this together.
Thank you.

We got there.
31 Aug 2026Hey all, first and foremost I want to give a shout out to everyone who has shown their support, monetary or otherwise for the little challenge I imposed upon myself this month. Without you guys this wouldn't have been as much of a success. Love and peace.
So I started my biking challenge as a way to get out more, go farther, see more all while supporting a good cause.
Frankly I thought that my donation goal was a bit farfetched and that even if I never achieved it, well, it's still for a good cause and I can say I tried. Hah, all y'all must have been determined to prove me wrong. Of my $500 goal to raise money for the Sick Kids Foundation your generosity managed to kick me up to $683. That has blown me away and I cannot express how much it means to me that you would support a good cause and my little side project. This is a drop in the bucket to what has been raised nation wide but with the support of folk like you $6.3 million could not have been raised. It shows that if someone thinks their contribution won't matter, it actually does.
So I want to say thank you to Bev Parsons, Carson Hynes, Chris Greene, Colin Byrne, Evan Dinn, Greg Dunn, Kaz Hanrahan, Kim Hickey, Linda Greene, Michael Greene, Miranda Morrissey, Rieta Clarke, Terry Rideout and all the anonymous donors. Cheers to all Y'ALL. 😘
The second goal of 600 km was the one I thought that would be reached first. Hahaha well there have been a few setbacks. Working mostly evenings, an unfortunate series of biking mishaps and inclement weather actually made it trickier. I may have put poor Prudence through their paces because I exit this challenge with two sorta functional brake levers, a broken gear shifter, and a smashed bike display. Luckily they still were able to help me get the job done. Also my bruises are almost fully healed! Either way the final run of the month was today and I won't lie, after work today I just hit the roads and trails and really gave it (while being responsible and respectful to all my fellows on said roads and trail!)
So recap. 600/600km travelled. $683/500 donation goal achieved. Places travelled: Kelligrews, Cape Spear, Signal Hill, Topsail Bluff, Holyrood, berry picking patch on Mount Scio.
It's been a great month and thanks again. Keep two wheels on the road everyone.

One week to go!
24 Aug 2026So just a short little update, shout outs and well wishes.
After four weeks of working evenings I'm finally on the morning shift which means, weather permitting, I'll hit the 600km. Honestly I will do it no matter what.
Big thanks to Kaz and Carson for their generosity. Only another 105$ to get to the goal. Arigatou and thank you gentlemen.
Funny thing if I do make my goal I will be sent a Great Cycling Challenge biking jersey when (not if) I hit that 500$ target. If I do I will obviously post videos with it, wear it to work etc.
So thanks again for all the support. Keep your feet on the pedals and eyes on the road and stay safe everyone.
