My Story

This August, I’ll be participating in the Great Cycle Challenge to raise money to fight kids’ cancer!

I did something similar back in 2019, with the Ride to Conquer Cancer. I set myself a goal to raise $3000, and as an incentive for people to donate, I promised to do the whole first day wearing a this 90's-style wetsuit. Over $3500 later, and there I was pedalling over 100km in a wet suit… Oh, and I did it on my mountain bike too! The looks on the road bikers’ faces when I passed them was well worth it.

Well, I think it’s time to bring the wetsuit out of retirement! My goal for this challenge is 500km during the course of the month, with a fundraising goal of $4000. But wait, there’s more! To up the anti, if I can meet the fundraising goal, I’ll bike from Lethbridge to Calgary (around 200km) wearing that skin-tight and sweat-concealing wetsuit, again, on my mountain bike.

My “suffering” on a ride like this is far less than the average cancer patient endures. So, who’s down to pitch in and help us kick cancer’s butt?!
