This August, I am taking part again in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer in honour of Alan and to support our youngest cancer patients across Canada. Throughout the month of August, a community of cyclists ACROSS Canada come together to cycle and raise funds to support the Sick Kids Foundation.

Right now, over 1,700 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada. This isn't right. Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

Alan was my biggest cycling supporter, driving me to my drop off point or following me online to see where I was. Occasionally he would phone me and say "you're going the wrong way!".

Raising funds through the Great Cycle challenge is one way to support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing cancer treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
