I'm Riding For
Bill Short
Dad died in 1969 as a 35 year old. He died of brain cancer after two years of battling this horrific disease. After his operation to remove as much of the disease as they could he worked diligently to regain his speech, his strength and his passion for the outdoors. After returning to work and having just a year of health and wellness the cancer began to grow again. This time it took him. He left behind my mom, also 35, myself, a 12 year old and my younger brother, a 7 year old. We have come a long way in 57 years but there is still more to find out about this horrific disease.
My Story
This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, over 1,700 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.
Your support will change little lives.
Thank you.
