This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge because cancer has hit too close to home, too many times.

Over the years, I have lost family members to cancer. Recently, I’ve lost close friends—including one just yesterday. Right now, I have other friends fighting this terrible disease.

I’m putting my miles in, to turn grief into concrete action. I am riding to honour them, and to push back. We need better treatments, and that requires funding. So every kilometre has a purpose.

I am raising funds through my challenge to support SickKids Foundation and allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for cancer.
