My Story

3 Mar 2024

This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, over 1,400 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.

Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.

Your support will change little lives.

Thank you.

  • Optimistic State of Mind
    3 Mar 2024

In order for your outlook in life to be clear. Your vision can not be cloudy. Even in the most trying situations, there are positives. Unfortunately, most of us assume the worst or focus on the negatives. When I choose to be optimistic, it puts my mind at ease.

  • How One Experience Can Influence An Entire Experience
    13 Feb 2024

One bad experience doesn't have to ruin the entire experience.

Here's a valuable lesson I learned this year from an experience I had the previous year. It was one thing out of many that almost cost me never to return and give it a second chance.

I'm purposely avoiding naming groups and / or companies because it's not about the company or the group that made the experience bad. When you're dealing with food and catering to a wide variety of people, it will be difficult to please everyone. That being said...

When I looked at the bigger picture and all the other things the experience had to offer. The food was something that I could live with. I made up my mind to accept and work around it. I ate what was okay for me and forgot the rest.

This really is no different for other experiences. Which brings me to cycling.

When I learned to ride a bike for the very first time. I fell off many times and got back on the bike to start again and again. When I scraped my knee pretty bad, I was forced to rest. Even when the training wheels came off, I still struggled a lot because I hadn't mastered the breaks and the turns that well yet.

I rested for barely a day and inspit of my parents saying give it a rest. I would sneak out every chance I got. I was determined to get this cycling thing down to a science.

As kids, we don't give up. As we get older, We let the weight of the world bombard us and keep us from trying until we get it. Not perfect, but just right.

When we don't look at the entire picture, we miss out on the experiences of life that could add value and knowledge to our understanding of the world around us.

I only wish I had a picture of me back then, learning to ride a bike. We didn't have photography at our fingertips back then. It required more work to roll out the camera, and there was no delete or retakes.
