Who was Eli?

One of the best humans this world offered

Elijah (Eli) Joshua Friesen

Born - Dec 07, 2000

Passed - Aug 25, 2020

I have participated in this fundraiser every year, with only a couple of exceptions. I started long before we lost Eli, long before we could have imagined this would be part of his story.

Now, I ride in his name.

I hate that this is his family's reality and ours, but I am deeply grateful for the people working to save lives and create change through the funds raised. Knowing that Eli’s name is part of that work means everything.

He had the kindest heart I’ve ever known, and he is so deeply missed.

MY FIRST YEAR RIDING WHY WAS:

Why?

Approximately 29 to 32 children and youth are diagnosed with cancer every week in Canada.This equals an average of four to five diagnoses every single day across the country. It is the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.

So I am raising funds to help these kids & support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue to work to develop treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
