My Story

On August 1 I begin the ride to fight against children’s cancer!

Thankfully, my family is not currently walking the road that so many families do when a child is diagnosed with cancer. As a parent, I cannot imagine the fear, uncertainty, and pain that comes with facing that reality. I hope with all my heart that my family never has to experience it and I don’t believe any parent should have to.

While I have a healthy body and the ability to ride, I want to use that gift for something bigger than myself.

So in August, I’m going to put in the kilometres. I’ll be riding my bike to work, adding extra rides, and pushing toward a goal of 300 km to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer research.

Cancer is something that affects all of us. This year, I have felt its impact as we lost two incredible women far too soon. I also know people who are currently fighting their own battles with cancer, some finding victories, others facing incredibly difficult days.

Cancer does not discriminate. None of us are untouched by it. But we can all do something.

A single donation might feel small. A single kilometre might feel small. But a drop in the ocean can become a wave.

My goal is to raise $500 and ride 300 km this August. If you are able, I would be grateful for your support through a donation or even just sharing this message to help spread awareness.
