My Story

This August, I am taking part in my 4th Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, over 1,400 children are diagnosed with cancer every year.

As well, I am riding in memory of very special lifelong best friend, Darlene Robertson, who lost her valiant battle with cancer June 21, 2021 at 70 years of age. We shared so many good times together and she will always be in my heart.

As well riding for all the kids battling and for all individuals who have lost family, friends to cancer or recovered from cancer.

I will blog some of my rides. Almost all my rides will be on my bicycle but, I may try an electric bike a couple of times 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️. My rides will not be daily but, completed in the Foothills , Hinton areas 😍 All fun and so excited to be part of GCC again, 👏

    Well my last ride today.Thank you to my friend on the trail today encouraging me to enjoy my last ride ! (Who were you ?❤️👍)

    It has been a great experience once again interacting with people; offering water, chocolate bars, hugs from people that could not donate 💵 this year all the way up to my big brother just inching out Harold for 💰donation.

    Sometimes u think it is too nasty to go out riding & you meet all these people riding, walking.

    Exhilarating ride today with the wind pushing me , was a Carnoustie Golf Course wind today.

    Nothing is hard when you think how the kids battle each day ❤️

    Ride 4 was a challenge riding through all the leaves 🍃 and downed trees from the violent storm Monday night ⚡️🌪️💨 but, we made almost 10 Kms

    Thanks to all who have donated to date & all those supporting me verbally.

    Today , I am going to send my mass email out as we have been waiting patiently for

    GCC to announce “yay or nay” for the double up day. No word from them so we will just go forward 🚴‍♀️
