This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, over 1,700 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.

Kids should be living life, not fighting each day against a disease that robs them of the experiences and memories that other more fortunate children have.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their fantastic work.

Luke would not be here today had it not been for the amazing people at Sick Kids. Being born with Down Syndrome, Luke already had a lifetime of challenge places in front of him. Being diagnosed with leukaemia shortly after birth added to those challenges. The neonatal oncology team placed him on a recently developed chemotherapy regime and in weeks he was cancer free. The ongoing groundbreaking research at Sick Kids will continue to help save lives in cases, just like with Luke.

Taking this challenge is just one small way I can help them to help those children who so desperately need their support.
