Ride 4 Alicia

Ride 4 Alicia

Here is a little more info on the incredible human I’m riding for… Alicia Fyvie was a brilliant young woman, daughter, sister and friend. She was a beloved member of her family, and the best sister to her little brother Jax. Alicia was passionate about music (in particular the queen herself Taylor Swift), pho, capybaras, her dog Hank, the Oilers, and appreciated a good cardigan. She was an athlete, playing basketball through high school and para/sitting volleyball in university. She was a champion for human rights and was always an ally to anyone who found themselves in a vulnerable spot. She always loved learning, and was studying kinesiology at the U of A with the hopes of fulfilling her childhood dream of becoming an occupational therapist for kids. At 16, Alicia was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma and underwent an amputation of her right arm below the elbow. Over the next 4 years the treatments available just weren’t enough and the cancer became more than her body could handle. Alicia passed away on March 23, 2023. Before she left she lived life to the fullest, traveling with friends and family, finishing off her school semester, (finally) getting her driver’s license and spending time with her friends, family and boyfriend Jason.

My Story

29 May 2026

This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, over 1,700 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.

Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.

Your support will change little lives.

Thank you.

Andrew
