This August 2026, I will again take part again in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer! This is my final year participating in this event. In April, while training for the Challenge I separated my shoulder in a bicycle accident. I have had several visits to the Fracture Clinic at Jo Brant Hospital, several X-rays, a CT, Cortisone Injections, and a scheduled MRI for October 30.

However, I have been raining Funds for The Jane way Hospital, since 1988. My son Gregory was born that year prematurely, and was a patient in the ICU for three months. He survived, and now is a PHD candidate at York University, studying Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.

Another reason for participating in this Challenge is to help raise funds for the more than 1,400 children who are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada. Several of many former students in Mississauga, Ontario have died too young from this disease. I also ride these km. thinking of my parents, many cousins, aunts and uncles who have died from this disease.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Sick Kids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
