I'm Riding For
Lily Ann Fraser 09-Dec-2024 - 29-Jun-2025
I am riding in memory of Lily Ann Fraser, the daughter of my colleague Sam and her husband. Lily passed away on June 29, 2025, at just six months old, after a courageous fight with infant B‑cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. This is my second year riding in the Great Cycle Challenge, and this year carries a deeply personal meaning. Lily arrived on December 9, 2024, during a winter snowstorm — a tiny “squeaker,” as her parents affectionately called her. She was a velcro baby who loved to be held close. Her smile appeared early, at just six weeks, and it lit up every room. She was curious, expressive, and determined to be part of everything happening around her. Just days before she turned three months old, Lily received her devastating diagnosis. But despite everything she faced, Lily never knew cancer — she only knew love. She spent her entire life wrapped safely in the arms of her parents, who gave her every ounce of strength, comfort, and devotion they had. They were supported every step of the way by the incredible teams at CHEO and CHU Sainte‑Justine, who fought alongside them with compassion and expertise. I am riding for Lily — for her short but powerful life, for Sam and her family, and for every parent who hears the words no parent should ever hear. I ride with the hope that organizations like SickKids, CHEO, and CHU Sainte‑Justine can continue their life‑saving work, support families through the darkest moments, and push us closer to cures that will spare others from this heartbreak. As you support me in this challenge, I ask that you keep Lily Ann Fraser in your thoughts and in your heart. Her story deserves to be carried forward — and together, we can help ensure that more children get the chance to grow up, laugh, and live the long lives they deserve. Thank you for your support.
My Story
This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, over 1,700 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.
Your support will change little lives.
Thank you.
